The port of Topolobampo has a very extensive navigation channel, indicated by 20 metal buoys which fix the limits of both, navigation and insole operation.

There also exist three line up systems strategically located on land. Six location beacons sign on zones close to the channel.

The sight land buoy is found 25 kms away from port. It has a 20 mm cover racon.

Sight Land Buoy

Located twenty miles away from the port. It is the first sight land signal for every boat getting close to port. There is a "X" and "S" band racon set on this buoy, agile frequency and 360° reply and 20 m n cover

Farallon's Position Beacon

Located 45 miles away south from the port in open sea on a rocky hill called also Farallon.

First Line up

On the navigation channel through the port's access, there exists the Baviri Front Beacon, located east of the port on Baviri Hill, and Iturbe Rear Beacon located northwest of the port.

Second Line Up

On the navigation channel through the port's access, there exists the Punta Prieta front Beacon and the Punta Copa rear beacon, located southeast of the port.

Third Line up

On the navigation channel through the port's access, there exists the Punta Copa front beacon and the rear beacon both located southeast of the port.

Six position beacons are located in preventive zones on steady land, they all adjacent to the navigation channel. There are also 23 buoys which indicate both sides of the channel.

Protection works
Since the port is located in a natural bay also called Bay of Topolobampo , does not require protection works due to its geographical conditions.
